Den Mother
Venice, Los Angeles
A holistic spa in a converted 1930s bungalow on Abbot Kinney where you can book a private garden cabana with a cedar sauna for two, an individual cold plunge and a rain shower.
More about Den Mother
Sauna sessions are booked online in 30- or 60-minute slots, and each reservation covers up to two people in a fully private cabana with body wash, face wash and lotion. Afterward you can stay in the social garden, which has fire pits, tea service and food to order.
Den Mother is mainly a treatment spa, with massage, acupuncture and herbal therapies indoors, so the sauna suits a quiet hot and cold round for a couple or friends rather than a social bathhouse visit. Guests under 18 need a guardian with them the whole time.
