AIRE Ancient Baths Chicago

A visit is a 90-minute circuit in candlelit brick rooms. The baths include the caldarium (hot), tepidarium (warm), frigidarium (cold) and flotarium, a salt-water bath for floating, along with a thousand-jet bath and the Palestra, an outdoor bath with a waterfall. The Vaporium steam room uses aromatherapy, and the Sauniarium is a dry sauna.

The idea is to alternate hot and cold at your own pace, with a salt exfoliation area and a relaxation room with tea and water. Massages can be added. This is a quiet, spa-style experience rather than a social sauna.
